How Much Does a Wedding in Bermuda Cost?

In Bermuda, the application fee for getting married is $353, and the fee for issuing a marriage certificate is $40.

Marriage ceremony performed at the Registry General is an additional $260.

Legal Requirements for Getting Married in Bermuda

When applying for a marriage license, you will need to provide the following documents:

  • Valid passport.
  • Birth certificate.
  • Notice of Intended Marriage form.
  • Statutory Declaration certifying that both parties are unmarried or Certificate of No Impediment that is available at your local embassy or consulate.
  • If you have already been married, provide the relevant documentation to demonstrate that you are either divorced or widowed.
  • Name change document – generally all names on all documents need to match (including your parents’ names), otherwise proof of name change needs to be shown.

Other legal requirements are:

  • To apply for a marriage license, one must be at least 18 years old.
  • 2 witnesses over 18 years of age are required at the ceremony.
  • The license is valid for 3 months from the date of issue, and the waiting period is 15 days.
  • The Registry General will issue your Marriage Certificate within ten days of receipt of the Particulars of Marriage Form.
  • Originals of all documentation are required, or certified true copies.
  • All documents that are not in English need to be translated into English, notarized and sealed.
