Wedding Table Number FAQs

How are wedding tables numbered?

One way to make the process assigning numbers to tables easier is to try to have tables generally numbered in sequence.

It is best to place even-numbered tables on your right and odd-numbered tables on your left as a general rule.

How many tables do you need for 100 guests?

We suggest having at least 8 people per table for a big wedding with 100 guests, since most venues will not have adequate place for extra tables.

For smaller weddings, you may be able to fit six people at each table.

Do the parents of the bride and groom sit together at the reception?

Traditionally, the parents and any sibling who is not in the wedding party, as well as the officiant and his or her spouse (if they attend the reception) and any grandparents, all sit at the same reception table together.
